A man’s concern for his friend has led him to find out that his friend had actually died.

According to Sinar Harian, the man knew something was wrong when his friend did not answer his phone calls. He then went over to his friend’s home only to find him dead while seated at the dining table of his home in Kampung Tengkek.

Kuala Pilah District Police Chief, Superintend Amran Mohd Ghani said, the incident was reported by his friend who came to the victim’s house around 7pm after he failed to be contacted for a few days.

According to him, the condition of the body of the victim, a 49-year-old mechanic, was starting to smell because it is estimated that he had died two days before.

“As soon as he arrived at his friend’s house, he found the residence locked and his call was also not answered before he realised a foul smell coming from inside the house,” he said.

“The police had to break into his residence and found a man in jeans, shirtless who had died in the kitchen while sitting at the dining table,” he added on.

Commenting further, Amran said the examination on the victim’s body found that there were no elements of criminal acts. His valuables such as money and important documents were also at the scene.

Amran said the victim had been living alone in the house for five years and worked as a motorcycle mechanic in a workshop located next to his house.

“He was the youngest of three siblings and was still unmarried,” Amran said.

He continues to add, “Based on the initial investigation, the victim is believed to have diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease but allegedly did not have any further treatment at the hospital but only bought medicine at the store and pharmacy.”

He said the victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital, Kuala Pilah and a post-mortem will be performed to find out the true cause of his death.

“The case is classified as sudden death,” he said.
