Well, I guess she put blood, sweat and tears into her profession… Almost literally!

A cafe in Sapporo, with the Hokkaido prefecture in Japan recently went viral in the country for the revelation that one of its waitresses mixed her own blood into cocktails she made and served to customers.

The waitress has since been dismissed, with her action branded as “part-time terrorism” by the cafe in a tweet. Moreover, the cafe also apologised to customers in a statement for the incident.

Ironically, the cafe’s name, Mondaiji or roughly translated to English as “the Problem Child Concept Cafe”, marketed itself as a concept cafe where customers are served by the cutest “dark girls” and “problem children”.

The waitress was caught mixing her blood into a drink called orikaru, an original cocktail usually containing fruits and other colourful syrups.

Following the incident, the cafe closed for a day to replace all its drinking glasses and dispose of drinks that may have been contaminated.
