In the latest pandemic update in our country, a primary school student from Inanam, Kota Kinabalu has been tested positive for Covid-19 after getting screened at a local health clinic.
Astro AWANI reported that this news was confirmed by Datuk Christina Rundi, Director of Sabah State Health Department, who added that the student has been ordered to quarantine for 14 days.
Not only the student but everyone who was in close contact with the student including classmates, the students’ family and whoever was in close contact with him.
“All 37 of the classmates, parents and eight of the teachers have been identified as the students’ close contact.”
From their side, Sabah’s Health Department will be reminding parents to not send their kids to schools if they’re exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough or flu to avoid the formation of a new cluster.
School administrators also play a part in enforcing social distancing among students while making sure they constantly wash their hands and wear their mask.
