Adam Loh Wei Chai, the Kedah State Legislative Assembly Member (ADUN) for Bakar Arang, has stepped in to support a local family after their home caught fire today, coinciding with the first day of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Taking to his Facebook page, Loh explained how the family managed to escape unharmed after a fire broke out, reportedly caused by an electrical short circuit.

“It was heartbreaking to receive news of a house fire in Taman Arked on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” Loh wrote. “Fortunately, the four occupants managed to escape through the back door and are safe.”

He noted that the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) arrived promptly to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring properties. Preliminary findings suggest the incident was triggered by an electrical fault.

Loh expressed his commitment to assisting the family as they navigate this difficult period.

“In a season that should be filled with joy, a trial like this affects us all deeply. Moments like these remind us how vital it is to care for and support one another,” he shared.

He concluded by offering words of encouragement:

“I will do my utmost to provide the necessary support and essentials. May the family be granted strength and perseverance in facing this ordeal.”
