Malaysian philanthropist, Kuan Chee Heng, affectionately known as Uncle Kentang, is calling for the assistance of the Malay community in making this Hari Raya Aidilfitri season special for an elderly woman who was abandoned by her child.

Taking to his Facebook page, he requested that Good Samaritans send food to the woman in conjunction with the festive season.

A heartfelt appeal

He wrote: “I request that any Malay family who feels sympathy for this aunty, please send some Hari Raya food, such as ketupat, beef, peanut sauce, or any kuih, to this abandoned lady. I am Chinese, and I do not cook Hari Raya food, so I cannot provide it myself.”

“She has cancer, and her child, who is married, left her. She has been battling cancer for a long time and must travel back and forth to the hospital. I beg a Malay family to show her sympathy; she is alone and is currently staying at my employee’s house.”

How you can help

He went on to further urge the public to assist in making this festive season special for the elderly woman by sending her some food, so that she doesn’t feel lonely.

The elderly woman is currently staying at No 2, Jalan PU 10/13D, Taman Puchong Utama, Puchong.

Should you wish to send the woman some food, you can contact Uncle Kentang at 019-231 6666.

“Can we bring her some cheer? Her child abandoned her. Never let her cry on the first day of Hari Raya. Can we come together for a mother who is sick with cancer and alone?”
