The Lando Zawawi group has always been known to take it upon themselves when it comes to patching up potholes across Malaysia. They’ve been doing this as they’re tired of waiting around for the local authorities to do it.

Now, they’re also calling out the local authorities for their alleged ‘low quality’ work when it comes to patching potholes.

The Lando Zawawi Vrus Facebook page recently shared their disdain over the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) using tar that can easily be removed by hand, to fill in a pothole.

They wrote, “Actually, the (Lando Zawawi) brotherhood is the real fight for JKR specifications. How many times do we have to make a report? How many times are your subcontracting work going in vain? And endangering taxpayers?”

In their video, a Lando Zawawi brother could be seen picking up the tar used to patch a pothole (that has visibly become a pothole again), with his hands.

Well, JKR has since responded to the post via a statement, clarifying that the road, Jalan Haji Abdul Manan in Selangor, is under the jurisdiction of the developers of the East Coast Rail Link project (ECRL).

“The patch damage that was shared was caused by the cold mix patching carried out by the developers and the water reservoir on the shoulder of the road. For the safety and comfort of the road users, JKR Malaysia through the Klang district JKR has instructed ECRL to repair with hot mix patching on site as soon as possible,”

“JKR Malaysia is always committed and concerned about the safety of road users. The public is also advised to exercise caution in sharing and checking first before spreading any news or information,” they explained.
