A Malaysian woman recently shared how she ended her relationship with her ex-boyfriend after finding too many things she deemed as “red flags” with him, whom she called “stingy”.

The woman was unsure if her ex-lover was merely saving up as much as possible or if he was pure stingy. In her viral Threads post, she claimed that the man not only refused to get a wedding ring but also requested a cheaper dowry.

“He told me to get my wedding outfit on my own because he wasn’t good at choosing, but when I asked for money, he said I was being calculating.”

“You’re not my responsibility, yet.”

In her post, the woman vented about the man’s alleged requests before the wedding took place, saying that the man didn’t want a grand wedding, and only expected the ceremony to be held at the woman’s side.

She also claimed that when they dined out, the man would want to go Dutch, saying that she was not his responsibility as they had yet to tie the knot.

The man also hinted at how much she would be getting from him in terms of financial support, which seemed to be the final nail in the coffin.

In the comments section, the woman said that she called the wedding off just a week before they were scheduled to get married.

Do you think the man was just avoiding spending too much, or do you see a red flag?
