According to the latest numbers shared by JKJAVMY, the country has already successfully vaccinated about 787,000 people in phase one. With phase two starting soon, Malaysians who have yet to register for the vaccination are urged to do so immediately to facilitate the vaccine distribution. Based on the information received today, currently 7.8 million Malaysians have registered which is about 31% of the total population.

A few days back, as reported by The Edge Markets, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, mentioned that the number of registrations now can be considered as still low. He said,

“I consider this figure as still small. For sure, this (getting the numbers) is important to reach our desired level to more successfully contain Covid-19 transmission and at the same time revitalise or restore the country’s economy more rapidly. There is a correlation between rolling off the vaccine plan and the recovery of our nation’s economy.”

By state, Putrajaya leads the registration progress at 88.6%, but this only represents about 50,000 individuals. The highest number of individuals who have registered comes from Selangor which is about 2.1 million but this is only 44% of Selangor’s total population. The reality is, we are still far from the targeted number of registrations which is at 26.7 million individuals.

With phase two beginning soon, it is vital that we work together to get more people to register. Here’s a refresher of some ways you can register yourself and your loved ones.

  1. The simplest way is by using the MySejahtera app. You can now register for dependents like your elderly parents through the app too. Read all about it here.
  2. Go directly to JKJAV’s website to register. Click here and you will be directed to the registration form.
  3. Call their hotline at 1800-88-828.

Don’t you just miss having to be able to move around freely, to balik kampung without any restrictions or even to travel overseas again? We know most of you have gotten yourselves registered but it is time we work together to get those who have not registered to do so. Some of them might face issues during registration or some might not see the importance of it. So we as the community need to step up and help them. Let’s do this!
