His press secretary, Sufi Yusoff, told Astro Awani that Tun Mahathir was taken to the hospital by ambulance from his residence. As for the former Prime Minister’s current condition, Sufi said that he is still receiving treatment.

“Yes, he was admitted to IJN due to a fall and is currently still under observation,” Sufi stated.

Meanwhile, a media officer from Tun Mahathir’s office announced that a statement will be issued soon regarding his health condition. No statement has been released on the former Prime Minister’s social media accounts at the time of writing.

Tun Mahathir, now 100 years old, was last admitted to the hospital on 13 July 2025 due to fatigue. The incident occurred after he attended a picnic and potluck gathering in Putrajaya, which he drove himself to before spending some time cycling around the park. He was also discharged from the hospital on the same evening.
