Remember when the American man used the word ‘Oyen‘ to describe his orange cat?
Well, it now looks like he wasn’t the only one to be rather taken by Malaysian slangs and terminology!
A foreign man by the name of Devrim is now using a very popular Malaysian slang to insult the opposing team as he plays dodgeball, and we must say, we love the funny little twist he added! Malaysian dodgeball player, Ainsley Nair, took to his Instagram account to showcase this in a video.
He wrote, “Malaysian pride.”
In the video, just before their dodgeball game started, Devrim could be heard yelling “Mak Kau Hijau! Mak Kau Sabun!” Now, Mak Kau Hijau is a local insult that we’re used to hearing but Mak Kau Sabun???
This directly translates to “Your mother is green! Your mother is soap!”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ainsley shared that Devrim first heard the ‘Mak Kau Hijau‘ insult during a trip to Malaysia. Devrim then saw someone say “your mum is soap” in the comments of a video and insisted Ainsley teach him how to say it in Malay.
He then decided to use the “Mak Kau Hijau, Mak Kau Sabun!” combo during a dodgeball game in Australia! Yeah that’s right, be afraid, opposing team!
