For both food delivery riders and restaurants, the positive reviews of the customers could help to contribute a lot in ensuring that they get a steady flow of customers.

For riders especially, the reviews of customers can help to ensure that they are able to continue working and providing their service. Which is why it is extremely important for them to maintain a consistently good review.

Recently, a customer of a food delivery platform was shocked after she had received a barrage of insults and rude words from the food delivery rider who had sent her food.

In her post on Twitter, she explained that she had given the rider a 5 star review, however, his overall rating had dropped and he subsequently blamed the woman for it.

“I ordered food. I gave the delivery guy and the food 5 stars. Sound like an unproblematic story right. Nope. This is what happened. How are some employees so entitled? 1 star or 5 stars, they shouldn’t harass and abuse the customers.”

She went on to share screenshots of the conversation between her and the rider.

The conversation started off with the rider cursing at her and saying that he had to travel all the way to her place to send food only to receive a negative rating.

He then continued on his tirade of insults even after she had explained to him that she had given him a 5 star review.

“Next time don’t order. Just cook yourself. Lazy.”

She also shared that he had also called her 3 times. “I was so scared to pick up the calls after seeing the messages. How entitled can someone be? He asked for 5 stars after the delivery, I gave him.”

“I’m guessing someone else gave him bad review? And that itself is a red flag. He doesn’t behave himself with customers?”

“I’ve heard so many girls complain about delivery guys misbehaving because they have their numbers. But I never once thought it was still prevalent. No one deserves to be harassed or abused like that. We customers are not punching bags,” she said.

“No I don’t owe u to look pretty. Nor do I deserve to be abused like that even if I had given him a bad review. Do you even know how review works,” she added.

We hope that the platform takes some form of action against the food delivery rider. Although it is never nice to receive a negative rating, we as Malaysians should learn better on how to take it constructively.
