The non-stop rain currently happening around the country since last night (17 December 2021) has caused massive flash floods in several locations including Klang.

As many parts of the town have been overcome with water rushing into homes, private/public property and laying waste to household items, videos of the flood began to make its way on social media.

With residents saying that a flood of this magnitude took place almost 50 years ago, almost all roads heading into Klang witnessed heavy traffic and stalled vehicles.

The worst hit location was Port Klang, which force the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department to evacuate people as water rose to waist height.

In an official, the Association of Malaysian Hauliers confirmed that Port Klang was the worst hit as a result of the heavy downpour.

“Many of our staff including drivers’ houses are flooded, logistics operations surely will slow and we may not know how long this disaster might prolong.”

“The movement of our staff, drivers and routine haulage movement might stop/slow at this moment.”

Let’s pray for the wellbeing of those affected. Stay tuned for more updates.
