DBKL Launches Housing Rental Units for Single Men Working in KL at Just RM200/Mth, RM130/Mth for OKU

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has launched an affordable housing rental project for employed bachelors in Taman Ikan Emas, named Residensi Belia Cheras.

Taking to its Facebook page, DBKL announced that registration for Residensi Belia Cheras is now open, with rental for furnished units priced at RM200 a month for able-bodied individuals and RM130 a month for differently-abled (OKU) individuals.

They wrote, “This modern and strategic residence is offered specifically for youth working in Kuala Lumpur, complete with comfortable facilities and easy access to the city.”

Considering that the residence is specifically for employed bachelors, the city council imposed conditions on who qualifies for a unit. Those conditions are:

  • Must be Malaysian
  • Must be a bachelor (unmarried)
  • Aged 18 to 40
  • Must be working or an industry trainee
  • Income must not exceed RM4,000
  • Must be working in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
  • Must not own a house within a radius of 35km from the Kuala Lumpur city centre
