Recently, a bride in China went viral after wearing over 60kg of gold on her wedding day.

As reported by Tribun Solo, the bride from Hubei province attracted much attention during the wedding ceremony on 30 September.

However, although gold can be an accessory that most people would love to own because of its value, this bride seemed to face many difficulties wearing that much gold as it made it almost impossible for her to move.

While wearing a white dress and holding a bouquet of flowers, the woman found it difficult to move and needed her husband’s help to walk and move around.

It has also been reported that the gold jewellery was dowry given by her husband, which consisted of 60 gold necklaces. These necklaces weighed about a kilogram each.

Besides these necklaces, she also wore two huge gold bangles on each hand, which were gifts from the groom’s family.

As reported by Tribun Solo, it is a local belief that gold is a symbol of good luck, status and can ward off evil spirits or bad luck.
