Despite the fact that people don’t actually like seeing rubbish piling up around their neighbourhoods and villages, people still like to leave their garbage wherever they please instead of designated areas.

For the residents of an Indonesian village, they’ve ultimately decided to take matters into their own hands and ‘punish’ their neighbourhood litterbug.

Sinar Harian took to their Twitter page to share how residents of Sumedang, Indonesia, had collected all the rubbish dumped by the litterbug and ‘return’ it at the litterbug’s house as retaliation for their irresponsible actions.

Sinar Harian wrote, “The irresponsible attitude of an individuals who likes to throw rubbish where they shouldn’t ignited the anger of the residents, so they returned the rubbish back to the owner’s house.”

How did they know it where to return the rubbish to?

It turns out that the residents found a letter containing the litterbug’s information, including address, among their rubbish.

They then collected the rubbish into several sacks and spewed it in front of the perpetrator’s house.

“Finally, the residents of the area came together to the perpetrator’s house and returned the trash to its ‘owner’. It is hoped that this incident will be a lesson to those who behave this way,” a resident said.
