Police discovered that a 16-year-old girl was being raped by her own father after they caught her breaching the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

According to Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak, the victim had run away from home and was going to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) on Sunday (1 November).

At TBS, police detained the victim as she did not have a CMCO travel permit. However, after questioning her, they found out that she wanted to return to her biological mother’s home as she could not stand her father’s actions towards her anymore, reported Berita Harian.

“After being interviewed, the victim said she wanted to return to her mother in Kuala Nerang, Kedah because she could not stand the actions of her biological father. The victim’s parents divorced in 2004 after the victim was born,” Mohamad Farouk said.

The victim’s father was then arrested on Monday (2 November) on suspicion of raping his own daughter continuously since February at their residence in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang.

At a press conference at the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters today (6 November), Mohamad Farouk said that the victim had tried committing suicide by drinking floor cleaning liquid in June after falling into depression due to her father’s actions towards her.

“The victim is an only child and is still in school in Ampang while the suspect works as an office cleaning service operator,” he said.

“Further investigation also found that in September 2019, the suspect got custody of the victim and brought her to live together with him in Bukit Antarabangsa.”

He added that the house is also inhabited by the victim’s stepmother and four stepbrothers.

“The suspect is believed to have raped the teenager early in the morning while other family members were sleeping,” he said.

Additionally, the suspect has a criminal record of raping his own sister-in-law under Section 376A of the Penal Code. The suspect has since been remanded for seven days ending today (6 November) according to Section 376B of the Penal Code.
