Last month, news broke of a young 10-year-old girl from India who became pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her uncle.
The news became even more outrageous when the Supreme Court denied her parents’ plea for the girl to get an abortion.

Now, according to the New Straits Times, the young girl just delivered a baby girl yesterday (17th August). Obviously, the girl was too young to go through natural birth, so she delivered the baby via C-section.
However, the girl is unaware that she delivered a child, and was told by her parents that she would be undergoing surgery to remove a stone in her stomach.
The girl’s parents are planning to put the newborn baby up for adoption.
“She gave birth through C-section today (Thursday). Both the girl and her baby are doing fine,” the doctor who conducted the surgery told the press.
“The surgery was uneventful. There were no complications whatsoever. The baby weighed 2.2 kilos and is in the neonatal ICU for now.”

The 10-year-old was reportedly raped by her maternal uncle at least half a dozen times whenever he would visit her home. Thankfully, the man is now in police custody.
When her parents had found out about her pregnancy, she was already six months pregnant, which meant that it was too late for her to undergo an abortion. The court ruled that the young child should carry the baby to term because the hospital that examined her concluded that conducting an abortion would be a greater risk to the girl’s life than carrying the baby to term.
We hope this girl recovers from her ordeal and that the newborn baby finds a loving family to take her in!
