Youth and Sports Minister Ahmad Faizal Azumu introduced a specific program geared towards getting the younger generation involved in politics without including street demonstrations.

The ‘Kata Dua’ program, according to the minister, aims at getting youths to learn politics based on noble values and healthy political participation.

What’s the reason behind this move? Well, according to the Minister, the program can help prevent the younger generation from participating in street demonstrations, which could “jeopardise the country’s harmony and their future”.

Among the modules that are shared with participants include improving “their capacity and understanding of Malaysia’s democracy system as well as organising community social impact projects.”

“Noble values of politicking will be absorbed, among the active participation in politics. It is based on a sense of responsibility, manners and respecting every culture in the country.”

Will this eventually lead to more mature politics in the country? What are your thoughts on the matter?
