Motorcyclists, take note!
Your life is about to get easier because there is now a new and fuss-free way to renew your motorcycle’s road tax and insurance, and you can do it online!
Loanstreet just launched an “insurance portal” to ensure that Malaysians never once again forget to renew their road tax and insurance. It’s pretty easy to renew your insurance and road tax by using Loanstreet; all you need to do is follow the steps below:
1. Go to Loanstreet’s website and click “Motorcycle Insurance” which comes under the “Insurance” tab.

2. Click on the “Get Quote” button and fill in the blanks with the relevant information.

3. Then, you will be given a quotation and you have to click “Buy Now”.
Following that, you’ll be asked to fill in more details in order to complete the process. It sounds a bit mafan but it’s really hassle-free.

4. Provide more information to purchase your road tax as shown in the picture below.
FYI, this step is optional!

5. Finally, you can confirm your details and make the payment via online banking (FPX) or MCash e-wallet.
The FPX and MCash e-wallet are the only available options for now.

If you opt to renew your road tax via Loanstreet, do note that the delivery timings and delivery charges for the road tax differ in East and Peninsular Malaysia. The timing and charges are as mentioned below:
- Peninsular Malaysia: 2 – 4 working days; RM8 (delivery charge)
- East Malaysia: 5 – 7 working days; RM12 (delivery charge)

If you aren’t aware, Loanstreet launched this portal in partnership with Zurich Malaysia to sell insurance to motorcyclists as an effort to curb the “alarmingly low number of insured motorcyclists”. Managing director of Loanstreet Jared Lim was quoted as saying,
“We wanted to get the number of uninsured motorcyclists off the road by providing a quick and easy online insurance agency service. We also wanted to offer a fast-online car insurance agency service which can be completed via a smartphone in just five minutes.”
Referring to the aforementioned statement, you’d be glad to know that Loanstreet also allows you to renew your car and travel insurance. The method of applying is the same.
