Starting tomorrow (22 October), SOCSO will be offering free Covid-19 tests to registered employers who are obliged to work in their respective offices.

Swab Taken For Testing Dg

Datuk Seri M.Saravanan, Human Resources Minister, said that the Prihatin Screening Programme (PSP) will be available to employers in affected CMCO areas for their employees who are expected to come into work.

If you’re an employer, you want to make sure you’re eligible for this free screening by meeting the requirements below:

  • Make an appointment for your employees’ screening.
  • Contact the SOCSO service panel by referring to the Service Panel Directory on SOCSO’s website.
  • Fill up this form and submit it to the service panel for screening.

However, these tests are only free when they are taken at the 14 designated clinics assigned by SOCSO.

If employers would rather their employees be tested at labs or other clinics, a subsidy of RM150 per employee will be provided but employers will have to submit an application for the Covid-19 Screening Subsidy first. They will also have to pay for the costs first and present the receipt, as well as the employee’s name before they are subsidised by SOCSO.

Previously, Defence Minister, Ismail Sabri announced that employees from both private and public sectors in selected industries in red zones of CMCO areas are ordered to work from home. Those who have to go into work will have to undergo screening tests but costs will be borne by SOCSO following certain terms and conditions.

For more information on eligibility, the PSP, or the Covid-19 Screening Subsidy, you can contact SOCSO through email or dial their hotline.
