After a week-long of work, we always love hunting for good cafes that provide not only a relaxing ambience but also a healthy, hearty and Instagram meal. Out of the many cafes in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, we’ve decided to give CC By Mel’s new menu a try, and now we get how it’s always a full house, even on weekdays!
CC By Mel‘s Japanese fusion cuisines is already pretty well-known for their stunning presentation and exquisite ingredients. This time, we tried out several items from the Version 2 menu and here is a review of the dishes we like!
The Applewood Smoked Salmon V2 is impressive. We love how the salmon is crispy on the outside, as well as the combination of fish roe, bacon bits, mashed potato and cheese altogether. The Piri Piri Roasted Chicken on the other hand is fragrant, unique and of a big portion. Both are cooked perfectly and has the crisp factor!
For seafood lovers, don’t miss out on the Ebithing Ebi (Ebi Roe Pasta) which is a delicious, fragrant linguine meal that comes with brown butter marinated tiger prawns. Not to mention the Aka Ebi Capellini, a one-of-a-kind meal that includes premium ingredients like Uni (sea urchin roe) and zesty Dashi foam.
Our personal favourites were the Truffle Puddle V2 and Angus Truffle Bikini. Unlike some cafes, CC By Mel is very generous on the ingredients. You can find pieces of truffle in the tasty Truffle Puddle V2, while the truffle taste does not overwhelm the other ingredients. If you love beef, definitely go get the Angus Truffle Bikini, a mouthwatering sandwich dish where the beef just melts right inside your mouth!
The Summer Nori V2 comes in the signature CC By Mel taco box, and according to the waiter, this is vegetarian. The seaweed is crunchy, but the meal overall can be saltier and less greasy. The Lobster Brioche on the other hand is really appetising, we especially love the combination of lobster meat and crunchy cucumber, and the size is also perfect for those who want a bougie meal to grab and go.
The cafe also has a new smoothie and acai bowl menu perfect for your healthy diet. We tried the Berry Please Smoothie Bowl and Mango Garden Smoothie Bowl and they’re both delectable. We love the shredded coconut which gives a hint of saltiness and makes the yogurt bowl more flavorful. What’s more, the decent amount of granola with mixed nuts, strawberries and blueberries. However, if you are used to having low-sugar meals, this may be a little too sweet for you.
Another two must-try items from the new menu: Dragon Berry Overnight Oats and Flora Matcha. Mix the yummy oat, honey, oat milk, and fruits before savouring. For the Flora Matcha, we didn’t know the mixture of Sakura powder, matcha, and milk could taste this good and refreshing!
Lastly, get your dessert cravings satisfied with the Tiramisu in the pot and Mr Cloudy. The tiramisu in the pot with crushed oreo looks cute, while Mr Cloudy, which is yuzu chocolate ganache paired with pistachio mousse has a classy look and tastes amazing!
Overall, this delicious and healthy new menu is worth a try. We also noticed that each table has a lamp on top so it doesn’t get too dim, and customers get to take pretty Instagram pictures!
