A murdered singer, a dead body found hanging at LRT station, and now, a missing woman in JB. In just 1 week, too much has happened and some of us can’t help but wonder about our safety.

A 34-year-old single mother, Mila Sharmilah has been missing for more than 1 week now. She was last seen with her boyfriend on December 14, when the latter picked her up at her home in Taman Soga to go to the nearby laundry. Since then, Sharmila’s phone has been unreachable.

She has disappeared into thin air, and her 4-year-old son has been continuously asking about his mother.

“Where is Mommy? Why is she taking so long to come home?”

Sharmila’s elder brother, Hisham has no slightest idea to answer his nephew’s million-dollar question, and all he can do for now is to come up with a white lie by telling the 4-year-old that his mother has been out working.

“I wanted to tell him the truth but I couldn’t, especially when I see him constantly asking for his mother,” he told Harian Metro.

Sharmila’s mother also couldn’t sit still with the uncertainties about her daughter’s fate. She travels every day with Hisham, in the hope that they can find their missing family members.

A police report has been lodged but at the time of writing, there has been no update from PDRM regarding the matter. In an FB post by PDRM in Batu Pahat, the police urged the public to come forward with relevant information if they have seen Sharmila.

“Sharmila was last seen in a black t-shirt and black jeans. Her BF was picking her up to go to the laundry at 8 pm.”

Let’s not jump to any conclusions and hopefully, Sharmila can be found as soon as possible so that she can reunite with her family.
