I know we’ve all made plans to lose weight this year, but this is not what they meant by “eating clean”.

An Indonesian woman has recently gone viral for reviewing different brands of soap by tasting them. Her video gathered over 200,000 views and can be seen below.

The woman, known as Khosik Assyifa has been posting several videos where she happily consumes different types of soap. She would first rub the soap with her wet hands and then proceed to slurping up the lather it forms. In most of her videos, she is seen overly engrossed with her soap that all she does is utter one word,

“Tasty.”

As previously mentioned, this is not the first time Koshik has been taste-testing soap. Other than Giv, she has also tried soaps from other brands such as Lifebuoy and Lux.

All along the internet, there has been many debates on whether it is safe or not to eat soap.

Go Ask Alice, a team of health specialists from Columbia University, mentioned that soap is generally non-toxic and is less likely to lead to poisoning. However, people should not be eating big chunks of soap as they may cause blockage or damage to the digestive tract. Don’t accidentally eat your soap while showering, ok?

On the other hand, a netizen from The Naked Scientist pointed out that soaps are an alkaline and have a high PH value. This may neutralise the acidic digestive juices in our body, causing our digestive system to not run efficiently.

What do you guys think about this lady eating soap? Do you know anyone who has eaten soap similarly? Let us know in the comments section down below.
