Teachers are nurturers! Through engaging teachings and boundless support, they discover our talents and shape our minds. Hence, whether you’re a student or a graduate, it’s important to express your gratitude, especially on Teacher’s Day!

Getting our everyday heroes some thoughtful gifts can be a great way to show appreciation but if you’re running out of Teacher’s Day gift ideas, we have a brilliant suggestion for you…

From now until 15th April 2023, Malaysians can nominate their teachers for Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s®!

If this special award doesn’t make the perfect gift, we don’t know what else would!

Wait, what is Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s®

The ‘Anugerah Guru Inspirasi’ (AGI) McDonald’s® aims to acknowledge extraordinary and inspiring teachers who’ve gone the extra mile in nurturing their students. These teachers are constantly going all out to educate and shape our future leaders, and they undoubtedly deserve a token of appreciation!

If you haven’t already known, this special award was established in 2017. Over the years, more than 30,000 students of all backgrounds from across Malaysia have nominated their favourite teachers, and 131 teachers have been awarded ever since! This program is also in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

This year, McDonald’s® returns once again to fulfil its noble mission—honouring the effort and sacrifices of our teachers in the field of education. If you wish to thank your favourite teachers on the upcoming Teacher’s Day, there’s no better way than to nominate them for this wholesome award!

Here’s how to cast your nominations!

Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s® is open to all Malaysians who are currently teaching in government or private schools in Malaysia. Already have your favourite teachers in mind? Follow these steps to nominate them:

  1. Before 15th April, visit the Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s® website to share an inspiring story about your teacher.
  2. Fill up your school information and personal details.
  3. Upload a picture or a video of your teacher (this is optional!) and submit your story.

And you’re done! Just three simple steps and you stand a chance to win prizes for your teacher, your school, and even yourself

Yes, you read that right! This year, McDonald’s® has prepared AMAZING rewards for 25 winners with the most inspiring submissions:

  • Winning teachers: RM5,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate X 25
  • Schools of the winning teachers: RM5,000 cash prizes to improve the teachers’ office X 25
  • Nominees of the winning teachers: RM500 McDonald’s® vouchers X 25

This means that apart from honouring our most inspiring teachers, McDonald’s® is also rewarding the schools of the winning teachers and their nominees with RM5,000 and RM500 McDonald’s® vouchers respectively!

Isn’t that awesome?! Besides appreciating your teacher and your school, you also get to treat yourself AND your loved ones to a filling meal at your nearest McDonald’s®!

If your submissions aren’t selected, don’t be discouraged! All qualified nominees will be rewarded with a National Level Participation Certificate, which contributes towards their Physical, Sports and Co-Curricular Assessment (PAJSK) marks at school!

25 winners will be announced on Teacher’s Day

To double the joy, winners will be announced in conjunction with Teacher’s Day! A panel of expert judges will be selecting the 25 most inspiring teachers for this award based on several criteria, such as:

  • Improving the academic performance of the students
  • Employing innovative and out-of-the-box methods of teaching
  • Going beyond the call of duty
  • Making a lasting positive impact on students

That said, stay tuned for the winner announcement on McDonald’s® official website

Wanna put big smiles on your teachers’ faces? Flowers and cakes are great, but they certainly can’t beat receiving the Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s® when it comes to Teacher’s Day gifts!
