Viral Photos of a Father Running Amok in Primary School is FAKE; It Was a Safety Demonstration
Sometimes, seeing is not believing. We can see something and think that it is what it is, but we can never be entirely sure unless we have information about the context of the incident.
Recently, photos and videos of a dad running amok at a school after his son was allegedly beaten by a teacher have gone viral. Well, at least that’s what a large portion of netizens thought when they saw the widely circulated photos.
However, it has since been revealed that the photos and videos were actually about a safety demonstration conducted by a primary school in Seremban, SK Taman Warisan Puteri.
What actually went down
One of the videos show a man holding a wooden stick charging into the school compound and shouting angrily. It is believed that he’s one of the teachers in the school and he was pretending to be the man who ran amok.
Additionally, photos in the post show students taking shelter underneath their desks and lying face down in the surau as a way to save themselves.
There was also one photo of the man who supposedly ran amok standing next to a teacher holding a microphone. They were giving students an explanation of how to save themselves if something unexpected happens.
According to the school’s latest Facebook post, the activity was a safety drill for students in the case that someone enters the school and runs amok.
The objective was to prepare and train students and teachers for the possibility of such an incident happening at their school.
