This man was lucky that his child was not hurt in any way.

An incident that happened in Guangxi, China on 11 September sparked debates and discussions online about parenting and phones.

The incident was caught on CCTV and the footage has since been released and gone viral. You can watch it here:

The video starts off with a boy and his father using the escalator of a mall in Guangxi. The father was busy tapping away on his phone while the child was running up and down the escalator.

At one point, the boy running against the motion of the escalator much like a treadmill, however, his little legs could not keep up and he fell. He was transported up and his pants got caught at the point where the escalator meets the flooring.

The little boy then tried his best to lift himself up but was unable to. The kid then cried which alerted his father who was previously engrossed with his phone. The man then ran to rescue the child and a few moments later, a woman came and helped them.

They could not pull out the pants where it was caught so they pulled out the child instead. When the child was free, the man carried him and continued to tap away on his phone while the lady freed the pants from the escalator. After that, he got engrossed with his phone again.

Children will be children and they’re not easy to take care of because they are always curious and accident-prone. You do need to let them have their freedom but supervision is always necessary. What’s your take on this?
