Shocking footage of a car accident reportedly in China involving a ride-hailing driver has recently begun to circulate on Facebook, highlighting the dangers of falling asleep at the wheel, according to the New Straits Times.
Based on the date on the footage, the accident is believed to have occurred on 17th January 2019. The video, however, was uploaded on 22nd January and has since been going viral among social media users. The now viral video shows the driver struggling to keep his eyes open while driving a passenger. He appeared to have dozed off while still driving the car.
A few moments later, the passenger can be heard shouting in panic before the driver quickly hits the brakes and the car presumably crashes as the screen goes blank momentarily.
The video then shows the driver still conscious after the crash but with blood on the side of his face. The car also appears to have taken a considerable amount of damage as much of the front part of the vehicle appears to have been ripped off. However, it is unknown if the passenger survived this accident.

We hope all those involved in the accident escaped unharmed and that the driver has learnt his lesson. Drive safe, guys!
