Having shelter, food and clothes are some basic necessities to living. However, people always forget that having a comfortable place to sleep is quite important as well as it can dictate the quality of our lives and health too.

Sleeping on uncomfortable surfaces might cause areas of pain on the body and might leave the person feeling unrested. However, this is the reality that plagues those who are underprivileged and in poverty.

Collaborating with Joey Mattress, Uncle Kentang has been giving out RM52,220 worth of mattresses and pillows to underprivileged families from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Johor, and Pahang. Uncle Kentang said,

“We hope that with better sleep, they can work more diligently the next day to provide for
their families.”

In a press release made available to WORLD OF BUZZ, it is mentioned that most of the recipients of the mattresses slept on stacked thin sponge mattresses or thin old mattresses on the cold and hard floor.

The team at Joey Mattress told us the origins of the mattresses and we’re happy that the company uses it to do goodwill!

“Joey Mattress is focused on bringing better sleep to all Malaysians so our products have an in-home trial policy. If customers return our products after that trial, we will sanitise and donate the returned goods.”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Uncle Kentang’s team has said that they are grateful towards Joey Mattress for providing them mattresses to give out to those in need.

“We visited 4 recipients in Seri Kembangan yesterday & they were delighted to receive the mattresses from Joey Mattress. Thank you!”

Joey and Winson have also told us that they are blessed and humbled to work with Uncle Kentang who is a very well-known philanthropist.

“Uncle Kentang’s team really looked into all of the applicants to make sure that they are going to those who need them most.”

“Working with Uncle Kentang’s team is truly a blessing. With them, we know that the donated mattresses are going to people who need them, and we’re making a difference in their lives by providing them with better rest.”

The co-founders mentioned that they will continue working with Uncle Kentang and those in need should follow the philanthropist on his Facebook page in order to get news on the next mattress campaign.

We’re so thankful to Uncle Kentang and Joey Mattress for having this campaign!
