What was meant to be a training ended up in a tragedy that robbed 10 precious lives, leaving many family members grieving.

2 Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) helicopters collided and crashed, killing all officers onboard. 1 of the deceased officers, Waran II Noorfarahimi Mohd Saedy was the happiest during the recent Raya celebration, according to her relative.

Noorfarahimi, who was 41 and fondly known as Farah was about to retire and she was most excited about the opportunity to finally live with her husband in Kuantan. She was scheduled to retire in June this year but sadly, fate is always 1 step ahead of us. She knew she was going to retire, so she wanted to ride the helicopter for the last time.

Unfortunately, it was the 1 last ride that no one foresaw.

Farah left behind 3 kids and a husband, who is also an officer of the TLDM.

Farah – an inspiration and a legacy

Farah’s daughter and son, Alwani and Alif said that their parents have always been an inspirational figure to them, and they dream of becoming like their parents.

Despite their mother’s death, Alwani and Alif admitted that it has not deterred their will to be like their mother. In fact, it has motivated them even more to chase their dreams.

Farah’s relative also said that moments before the helicopters collided, Farah managed to share a clip in the WhatsApp group, capturing the mesmerising views from the helicopter.

On the other hand, Farah’s close friend, M Sharil Hanifah said he didn’t feel too good after receiving news about the helicopter crash.

“I called Farah immediately after watching the news because I didn’t feel good about it and I didn’t know who were the victims. But she never picked up.”

Rest in peace, officers. Our thoughts and prayers are always with the family members of the deceased officers.
