They say that men soften as they age – they become less fierce, more sensitive and emotional. We’re not sure if this is true for all men, but it seems to be the case for this Malaysian grandfather who was caught in a wholesome moment with his little granddaughter.
Last November, Kym (@kymsaiful_tan) shared a TikTok video of her dad, who is her daughter’s grandfather, putting on lipstick for her. Recently, the video went viral again with many netizens commenting on how lovely the interaction between the two is.
In the video, Kym’s dad can be seen sitting on one of the steps of a flight of stairs. He’s facing his granddaughter, dressed in all pink and standing at the bottom of the stairs, and helping her apply pink lipstick.
At multiple points in the video, he even opened his mouth wide to signal to his granddaughter to also open her mouth to make applying the lipstick easier. Then, he used a cloth to clean up the edges around her lips.
When they were done, the pair can be seen giving each other hugs and kisses as they cuddled for a moment.
Netizens have mixed reactions
In the comments, netizens had mixed reactions to the heartwarming interaction between grandfather and granddaughter.
Some were amused at the grandfather’s antics asking if he’s helping his granddaughter apply lipstick or feeding her food.
“Uncle, it’s like this. Only those who’re wearing lipstick have to open their mouths. Uncle no need.”
Some wondered why dads who’re usually fierce with their kids will always lose when it comes to their grandkids. “They’re so gentle with their grandkids. This is not fair.”
Whereas others stated that the grandfather must miss the times when his kids were still young.
