We don’t know about you, but we’re always on the lookout for new trendy cafes that churn out interesting concoctions. We just love trying out unconventional combinations of flavours.
So, when we got an invite from Mighty Monster to try out their spread, we just had to say yes!
After checking out the place for ourselves, we definitely think this place is worth a visit for a number of reasons that go beyond just their food;
1. There’s a good blend of local and western cuisine

Going out with a group of friends and having trouble with choosing what cuisine you guys want to eat for lunch? This place should definitely be on your radar then, because there’s loads of options to choose from!
Their Grandma Chicken Satay Burger for example, has all those familiar local flavours packed in one burger. The peanut sauce really complements the charred flavours of the chicken patty – definitely reminiscent of chicken satay.
Want to satisfy your brunch cravings? Then, you should definitely try out their Hulk Smash, made up of poached eggs and cucumbers on smashed avocado, all on top of multigrain turmeric toast and topped with pumpkin seeds. Although we would personally do without the greens on the side, you definitely can’t go wrong with some poached eggs and avocado on toast!

Not that hungry but feeling a tad peckish? Then give the Peking Duck Gyoza and Crab Croquettas a taste if you’re in the mood for some bites instead. The gyoza definitely has a good balance of sweet and savoury, and the sauce really adds an extra dimension. Our personal favourites are definitely the Crab Croquettas. Once you bite into its crunchy breaded crust, the creamy taste instantly checks all those boxes, especially if you love savoury flavours. Perfect-yet-simple comfort food, if you ask us!
2. Every corner of the cafe is the perfect backdrop for Instagram shots

Let’s be real – part of the modern-day cafe experience is taking every opportunity to snap the perfect photos for Instagram.
Mighty Monster definitely takes our Insta-needs into consideration, because every part of the cafe has some pretty out-there decorations that are perfect for taking those casual portrait shots while waiting for your food. Major plus points for that!

3. Three words: avocado ice cream

Yes, you heard that right! If you’re as obsessed with avocado as we are, then you may be keen on trying out some of their desserts that are topped off with avocado ice cream.
The Sweet Escape for example, is a refreshing blend of sweet flavours made up of their house-made fruit bread served alongside berry gel, mixed berries, mini pretzels, banana chips, coconut crumbles on peanut butter sauce, topped with a scoop of avocado ice cream.
We also recommend their signature Mighty Waffles, served with almond candy, mixed berries and raspberry sorbet topped with a drizzle of apple cider syrup. We were personally impressed with the way the waffles maintained their crispiness. It’s just the right combination of textures to make the dessert extra enjoyable! Mmm…
4. Their lattes are just too pretty to resist

One of their standout lattes everyone on Instagram seems to be gravitating towards is their Butterfly Pea Latte. Taste wise, it’s pretty much your average latte but a tad sweeter than usual. So if you’ve got a sweet tooth, this is the drink for you!
Oh yeah, and it’s blue, so this is something you would definitely want on your Instagram feed!

5. Try out their unique cocktails too

So, it’s after work and you’re in need of a pick-me-up stronger than caffeine. Not to worry, because there’s a pretty cool assortment of cocktails you can choose from. We definitely recommend trying their Sakerinhna, which is a Japanese interpretation of the Brazilian cocktail, “Caipirinha”. It’s a unique blend of sake and strawberries, giving it a refreshing flavour with the perfect hint of sweetness.
What’s even more awesome is that Mighty Monster also has a ladies’ night every Thursday. From 6pm to 2am, you can get a bottle of wine completely on the house when you bring along three of your girlfriends. Anytime’s a good time for wine!
