This is horrifying.
According to NST, 33-year-old Jamilah Mat Shaari was found naked and dead in one of her apartment’s rooms at Taman Universiti, Seri Kembangan at 5pm, yesterday (17 January 2019). FYI, Jamilah is from Indonesia and she worked as a part-time maid.
Her sister-in-law, 34-year-old Suridah Sadrum believes that Jamilah was robbed before being killed. Her statement was based on the apartment’s CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage which showed Jamilah returning home for lunch and prayer at noon.
Suridah was quoted as saying,
“However, when one of our relatives who was staying with the victim returned home from work, the house was found to have been ransacked and some of the victim’s personal belongings such as cellphone, money and jewellery were missing.”
Adding on, Serdang district police chief ACP Ismadi Borhan revealed that the police got the call about the terrifying incident at 7.45pm.
A report by Sin Chew Daily revealed that she was allegedly strangled to death with a sock and her body was found with the sock tied to her neck. They also reported that the poor woman was brutally raped.
Meanwhile, China Press reported that the thief stole her purse, cash, handbag and jewellery as her belongings were nowhere to be found in the apartment.
The poor lady must have gone through some horror!
We extend our condolences to her family and hopefully, they stay strong during this tough time. On the other hand, we hope that the authorities will quickly nab the criminal and bring justice to Jamilah’s death.
