For those of you who may not know, the 2022/2023 school year started today and parents are going above and beyond to encourage their kids to study hard and embrace the new school year.
One pair of parents decided that just sending their kid to school wasn’t enough, that their child’s first day to a new school year needed something extra!
Based on a report by Kosmo, the parents had brought along cosplayers dressed as Transformer characters, Megatron and Bumblebee, to escort their 7-year-old daughter to her first day of school.
The little girl’s father, 29-year-old Ahmad Hamizan Ripin, runs a superhero costume rental business, and had his 2 friends don the Transformers costumes and act out various actions and superhero moves at the school gate to welcome the students and teachers.
His wife, 35-year-old Nurul Hafida Nawi shared that her husband was originally supposed to sport one of the costumes himself.
“Supposedly, my husband was supposed to wear the costume and accompany our daughter to school, however, he couldn’t because he managing costume rental services at 6 other schools,”
“Apart from giving encouragement to our children, the Megatron and Bumblebee costume service was given for free to SK Cherang Ruku (their daughter’s school) in appreciation of the services of the teachers at the school.”
She added that the 2 characters’ appearance was an effort made by her husband to encourage and inspire their eldest child and the other first year students.
And what a thoughtful act it was!
