We’re glad this story has a happy ending, at least!

Last year, an 18 year-old schoolgirl from Thailand was left with a disfigured face after being hit in the head by a mug that was thrown by her teacher.

The incident caused the left side of her face to droop, and she was unable to close her left eye.

According to The Nation, young Naruedee Jotsanthia had always dreamt of being an air hostess. So, when this incident left her disfigured, she didn’t know what to do. She said,

“When I saw my face, I just couldn’t accept it. I thought about hurting myself. I really just could not believe it.”

However, a medical miracle was achieved thanks to the generosity of strangers. Her costly therapy was paid by Pavena Foundation, which is a foundation funded by various sources that helps women escape abuse. This foundation also helped her transfer to a new school.

Eight months after the incident, Naruedee is now able to smile again thanks to months of therapy.

Needless to say, she’s very happy with the outcome of her therapy so far. Although she still has some paralysis on the left side of her face, she’s still very thankful.

“I might not be 100 percent normal, but I am very satisfied already on what I have achieved so far. At least I can smile again.”

As for the teacher who hurt her, he has already been charged with assault but has yet to be prosecuted.

We wish Naruedee a smooth and speedy recovery!
