It was recently detected that antivaxxers were paying RM2,500 to have their MySejahtera vaccination status changed without actually getting their shots.

A doctor from a private clinic has just been arrested after the clinic was discovered to be selling fake vaccination certificates.

Kad 1

Based on a report by the Polis Terengganu Facebook page, the Terengganu Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) had raided the private clinic in Marang and arrested the 51-year-old medical practitioner after he was suspected of issuing fake vaccine certificates to customers at a rate of RM400 to RM500.

These transactions are believed to have been done online, as some of the customers are from outside Terengganu. The customers are understood to be those who refuse to take the vaccines, but require a certificate for the sake of movement and travelling.

Terengganu Chief of Police, DCP Dato’ Rohaimi Bin Md Isa, has since warned anyone who issues fake vaccine certificates to customers to make a profit, to stop this unethical action as PDRM will continue to hunt them down.

The general public are also urged to channel information on these activities to their local authorities.

It’s truly saddening to hear that a doctor would pull off such an unethical feat for the sake of profits.

Stay tuned for more updates.
