Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert kickstarted in March this year and is expected to continue until late November. With her concert still ongoing, a concert movie highlighting the event is scheduled to be released in worldwide cinemas soon.

In her X’s post recently, Taylor announced the worldwide release of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, which is scheduled for October 13. The movie will be shown in more than 100 countries, including our neighbors Singapore and Indonesia. However, fans in Malaysia, don’t get too excited just yet because we may not have the chance to watch it in the theatres.

BFM News reported that as of now, Malaysia is not on the list and local cinema distributors have yet to pick up the film. Why is Malaysia always the “sibling” who is left out?

Malaysian fans, however, are not surprised about not being on the list.

At the time of writing, the Film Censorship Board has yet to respond to the “absence” of Taylor Swift’s concert movie in Malaysia. The film is directed by Sam Wrench and has a run time of 165 minutes. It recorded the 1st 3 nights of Taylor’s performance in California but not much about the film details has been revealed.

To all the swifties out there, let’s keep hoping that the film will eventually be released in local cinemas.
