Remember Tamagotchi? Your beloved digital pet that demands your attention throughout the day and you decided to own it because you need to compensate for the loneliness you were suffering growing up? Well, for their 25th anniversary, Tamagotchi has introduced a brand new smartwatch. Now you can have your newly adopted digital pet with you everywhere while sporting a stylish and vibrant smartwatch.

Kotaku reported that the Tamagotchi Smart features a touchscreen for you to interact with your digital friend, voice recognition for chatting, and a pedometer. Oh, and of course, it can tell you the time too, duh! The incredibly cute smartwatch comes in two colours; coral pink and mint blue. So you won’t have any problems matching it with your daily getup. However, you need to be careful because according to the FAQ, the device is not waterproof.

After going through the FAQ, the device can last up to 30 hours on a single charge and the voice recognition is not like your other smart assistants. It is only there to recognize your voice to wake the device up or when you react to the chirp by your digital pet.

The Tamagotchi Smart is set to be released at the end of November 2021 in Japan and will cost around 6,380 yen (about RM240). There’s no word of an international release just yet. So if you have the opportunity to get one, would you consider buying? Share with us your opinion!
