Previously, we shared how the Member of Parliament (MP) for Seputeh Teresa Kok claimed that her statement on the proposal for Halal certificates to be made mandatory for all eateries not serving pork and alcohol in the country was marred in controversy due to a mistranslation from Mandarin to Bahasa Melayu by ChatGPT.

Now, Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh, who has an ongoing feud with Teresa on the matter, has taken to his official Facebook account to chide the Seputh MP over her recent claims.

Responding to Teresa’s claim of AI mistranslation of her statement, Akmal mocked the Seputh MP by saying that previously, she allegedly blamed the controversy on the Umno Youth Chief but now, ChatGPT is apparently also at fault.

Akmal, who is also the Assemblyperson for Merlimau asserted,

“Before this, it was Akmal’s fault. Now it’s ChatGPT’s fault as well ya. What a funny Nyonya.

“Please sue ChatGPT too. Can’t wait to fight you in court.”

On 11 September, Teresa sent Akmal a Letter of Demand (LOD) demanding RM25 million in damages for the latter’s statement which allegedly tarnished the Seputeh MP’s reputation.

Akmal was given 7 days to respond to the LOD, failure of which would result in a civil suit being filed.

Iterating a “no fear, no surrender” stance, the Umno Youth Chief has since asserted that he would be facing Teresa in court.
