Remember when Carlsberg launched their ‘Probably Best Job’ Campaign?

The job position which sees a RM62,000 payout for a minimal 4-hour job got every alcoholic in Malaysia and Singapore alike excited.

However, only ONE person gets to fill the beer taster job and that man is marketing manager, Royston Lim. You can practically hear grunts from every other alcoholic.

There were 5 finalists, which were all tested for their knowledge of beer and also had them pour the perfect mug of Carlsberg.

After the strenuous tests, Lim emerged as the champion with an awesome ‘Carlsberg Beer Taster’ title and worked 4 hours as a Carlsberg Ambassador. Of course, all that ‘hard work’ was very rewarding as he walked away with RM62,000.

Lim said, “This is such an unbelievable feeling, from the day I got the call for the campaign until now. I couldn’t sleep for the past few nights, this is a huge landmark in my beer journey.”

He also recounted his interesting experience as the Carlsberg Ambassador.

“I am so excited to be an ambassador. There are so many friendly uncles and aunties who have been drinking Carlsberg for so many years, it is quite refreshing to me.

“Luckily I speak Hokkien like them, so it is easier for me. I am absolutely in love with the environment here, it is good that everyone can taste the best beer.”

For us who (unfortunately) didn’t make the cut, better luck next year! In the meantime, we’d better up our beer game!
