A string of ‘pranking’ incidents have struck many restaurateurs recently, one would think that people would know better than to cost businesses, especially restaurants that are already struggling, more losses.

Taking to TikTok, one netizen shared the story of how one business owner was pranked to prepare food for 60 people, but were no-shows.

Here is a video of the incident.

In the video, three long, empty tables were seen filled with food, raised questions amongst those who were at the restaurant. After finding out that the 60 pax who booked were no-shows, the netizen writes: “Please do not do this to business owners. We felt that something was wrong, when people who booked their place at the restaurant did not arrive.”

“It was still empty when the restaurant was almost closing and apparently the staff tried to contact the person who booked, but to no avail.”

Denying that this was a marketing ploy, the netizen shared that the restaurant did not take any form of deposit when they made the reservation, causing them to lose a lot of money.

What are your thought on the matter? What would you have done?
