Remember hearing about the Nasi Lemak Lobster in Singapore that went viral previously and Malaysians were left super jealous that we had to head all the way there to try it? Well, as it turns out we actually do have our very own nasi lemak lobster right in the Klang Valley! OMG, what? Where?

Apparently there’s this nasi lemak store that has over 20 years of history in the industry who took the initiative to start selling it to excited customers. This store is none other than Nasi Lemak Tepi Jalan that has opened up a branch in Cheras Selatan, Balakong.

According to their Facebook page, the original stall started back in July 1996 by the roadside in Desa Petaling (hence the name!). Now, the younger generation who has taken over their parents’ legacy wants to pay tribute to them by opening a full fledged restaurant in Cheras Selatan.

Their signature nasi lemak kukus started with the usual dishes such as fried chicken, sambal squid, and sambal cockles which are bound to hit the spot with this quintessential Malaysian dish. Their sambal is fragrant, sweet and spicy which is said to have that just right amount of kick needed for a delicious plate of nasi lemak. Salivating already!

However, the younger generation has also come up with a new addition to the menu back in September, which is the aforementioned nasi lemak lobster. Yum yum! That’s not all, because they have crab version on their menu for seafood lovers as well. Their nasi lemak is so famous that they often run out of crabs or lobsters but they always restock fast, though.

The crab and lobsters in the nasi lemak are coated with a delicious butter cheese sauce that is satisfying, sticky and finger-licking good! Surprisingly, this lobster version of the traditional nasi lemak has quite an affordable price tag starting from RM20, depending on the size of the lobster while the crab version goes for RM25.

Are you feeling hungry already? Here’s where you can locate them:

Address: D1-28-G, Block 7, Jalan Dutamas, Taman Dutamas, Belakong, Cheras, 43200

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 1.00pm – 12.00am, Saturday to Sunday 2.00pm – 1.00am
