1 day without water supply can be tough not just for those who are running food businesses but also for the households where residents carry out their daily activities.

While many people in Kelantan continue to struggle for clean water, unfortunately, some people in the state may experience water cuts during the upcoming Raya celebration. The matter was announced on Air Kelantan’s official FB page, where the organisation shared a complete list of areas that will be affected by the water cut. Most of the affected areas cover the places at Tumpat and Pasir Mas.

As of now, Raya is expected to fall on April 10, and the water cut, which is due to the maintenance work might prolong for days during the celebration.

“The maintenance work is expected to complete on April 15 (Sunday). depending on the situation of the river at that time.”

“We’ll deliver the water”

Despite the water cut, Air Kelantan assured the people that they are not going to leave the affected residents without any access to water. In their post, Air Kelantan said they will be delivering water to the affected areas through static water tanks to ensure the people have access to water during the festive season.

Earlier, the state government told the people in Kelantan “to be patient” as the water issue in the state will be solved in 3 years. This is due to the maintenance work that is not just time-consuming but also costs the state government a lot of money.

Kelantan MB also used to say that the water issue in the state is not “a big issue” because the villagers can survive by digging their wells to get water supply.

Regardless, we do hope the maintenance work can proceed smoothly and better yet, complete ahead of schedule so that people in the affected areas can have access to water supply.
