While Raya might look a little different for us this year as many are not able to travel back to our hometowns, give physical salam (greetings), or have Raya open houses, the one thing that we can all still enjoy at least is delicious kuih Raya!
The period before Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri is usually the busiest months for those baking and selling cookies for Raya. After all, kuih Raya is the only thing that could magically lift the doom and gloom of this pandemic. Let’s take a look at some of the unique kuih Raya sellers who are taking things one step further and putting their own special touch to these festive treats!
1.Bliciousseries.hq
Although the name Vampire Cadbury seems a little spooky, this isn’t exactly a Halloween treat. During festive seasons like Raya, they’ll bake about 60 types of cookies that range from RM28 to RM150. Some of the more eye-catching ones are such as their Nutella Doughnut cookies, and their Kek Lapis Cadbury for all you chocoholics out there!

@keempossible seems like a clever username for this unique cake art instructor. Keem’s artistic cakes are truly breathtaking as you scroll through her feed. Her signature Deco Roll cakes have been featured on multiple news sites and platforms, giving her instant recognition ever since she started selling these meticulously detailed cake rolls, back when the MCO was still in its third phase.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Keem explained that she wanted to create something more than just food that tasted good, but food that had its own identity.
“It’s like a journey that unfolds itself as I create one cake after another, each imperfection teaching the next, each experience influencing the next, and each creation inspiring the next.”

3.Moonandbake
@moonandbake bakes and sells various cookies, cakes, and tarts. Some of the desserts that stood out most were their gula Melaka (brown sugar) cakes, which are a rare find on Instagram. The soft chiffon cake is paired with a generous drizzle of melted gula Melaka that will surely leave you craving for more.
Their tapak kuda Nutella and Nutella pods are also some must-try highlights!
4.Kuihrayakaylacookies
If you love Marble cakes, then you definitely have to try these marble cookies that taste as good as they look. @kuihrayakaylacookies offers some of the most indulging chocolate marble cookies you can find on Instagram, at just RM25. 5.Tarts.and.etcetera
We all know the one signature cookie that is present for all festive occasions is none other than the beloved pineapple tart. But @tarts.and.etcetera puts a little twist to the treat by subtracting the pineapple jam and adding a Cadbury chocolate on top! Their Cadbury tarts can be purchased at RM13 per bottle. So if you’re looking for something a little different from the regular pineapple tarts, this one could be worth serving for the upcoming Raya celebrations.

What Chemilan has to offer ranges from sweet to savoury, but what’s most interesting is their range of Choc-O sweet treats. Their chocolates are moulded in the form of Lego-like building blocks, which have never been seen or sold as a Raya treat before.
