Ahmad Faizal now has two choices which is to resign and allow the Sultan Perak to choose the new Minister or he can advise the Sultan to dissolve the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN). The advice of dissolution of DUN is not necessarily followed by His Majesty.

Perak government is made up of the PN coalition, which comprises 25 Umno assemblymen, five assemblymen from Bersatu and three assemblymen from PAS, and also further supported by one Gerakan assemblyman and one Independent.
