Perak Girl Allegedly Gang-Raped & Left On Roadside After Befriending Man On WhatsApp

Six Malaysian men were arrested in connection with a gang-rape case involving a 13-year-old girl in Kampung Simpang Perak, Ayer Panas, Perak.

According to Pengkalan Hulu District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Zulkepli Ibrahim, a report was made at about 2pm, claiming that a girl had been gang-raped at a house.

He said the victim claimed to have met one of the suspects through WhatsApp on 5 February before she was invited to go for a walk around Pengkalan Hulu at about 7.50pm the next day, reported Astro Awani.

The victim was then taken to a house and allegedly raped by one of the suspects before being raped by three other men in three separate rooms from 11pm on 6 February until 3pm the next day (7 February).

“The victim was then left on the side of the main road in Kampung Tanjung Kala, Gerik on 7 February at around 6.30pm,” Zulkepli Ibrahim said in a statement.

He added that the victim is now receiving treatment at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Meanwhile, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Pengkalan Hulu District Police Headquarters managed to arrest six men, aged between 18 and 58, in several different locations in the area.

All suspects will be remanded until 15 February while the case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code which provides for imprisonment of not less than 10 years and not more than 30 years, upon conviction.
