Well, well, well, what are Malaysians arguing about today? Is it about the political or the economic state of the country? NO! We have reached top-tier of academic discussion, guys. It’s about a meme. And not just any meme, a superior meme. On the fateful evening of 21st October, Twitter user @amaliabertweet posted “the confused cat” meme asking how Malaysians referred to 1 Utama shopping complex – by using ‘One U’ or ‘O U’.

THAT’S WHEN THE GREAT ONE U MEME WAR BEGAN!

Most of the comments were people saying that they use OU when referring to the mall, and saying that they haven’t met people who even called the mall 1U.

The situation escalated to a point where even 1Utama mall’s admin quoted the tweet with a highly controversial reply.

You’d think that this would settle matter right? Right? NOPE. Instead, it kinda got worse. People started disagreeing with the admin’s answer, and to sum up the majority response, one Twitter user simply said this.

While others decided to voice their opinion in more ….aggressive terms.
