Nurul Izzah Had Actually Warned The Government About The Flood 5 Months Ago!

We simply cannot deny how devastating the flood is this year when the rain continued to pour over the weekends. As of now, many are questioning the slow response and actions from the government to the situation.

However, a video from July this year has found its way back to social media and revealed how the government was actually “warned” of the possible flood that is bound to hit the country.

On 26 July this year, Nurul Izzah, the MP for Permatang Pauh in Penang, and also the daughter of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim had actually raised the possible flood issue in Parliament. She had urged the government to take into account the incoming monsoon season into the National Recovery Plan (NRP) so that preparations can be done prior to the flood.

“We’re expected to go through the flood during this pandemic. The pandemic has revealed the flaws in the system, and this is our chance to fix them.”

Nurul also said that during the flood, or any other disasters, the rakyat‘s welfare and the health system also have to be taken care of.

In the meantime, netizens have also expressed their dissatisfaction towards the slow response from the government, as well as the ignorance on Nurul’s reminder.
