This Singapore replica is built by Citraland Gama City, and has the name “The Singapore of Medan”. Interestingly, this place has its own Merlion statue, Fountain of Wealth, and even fake Electronic Road Pricing (ERP). There is also a modern business center, malls, apartments, schools, universities, hospitals, clubhouses, and waterparks in the residential area.
It also has different types of housing with names that are very familiar, such as Raffles Place, Clarke Quay, Fullerton, and Dempsey Hill. According to Citraland Gama City’s official website, The Singapore of Medan carries the clean, green, and modern residential concept, and is currently the largest and the most complete independent city in Medan.
Netizens, especially those from Singapore find it amusing that there’s a replica of their own country.
