A wedding is one of the most important highlights of your life and on such a big day, whoever makes it to your important event matters. A lot.

Ashman Najib, the son of jailed former PM Najib Razak, tied the knot yesterday (December 16) at a hotel. However, Najib himself was absent from the celebration of love as he was still in the midst of his prison sentence. The wedding went on as scheduled, but Ashman and his wife couldn’t hold their tears back during the speech.

Welcome to the family, Nikola

In his speech, Ashman mentioned that the family has gone through tough times, and despite not being able to make it to the wedding, his parents are proud and happy to welcome Ashman’s wife, Nikola Mulyadi, to the family.

“My parents are proud to welcome such a warm person (Nikola) to the big family, and they wished us the best for this wedding.”

Nikola, who was just beside Ashman during the wedding, was seen wiping her tears during the heartfelt speech.

According to a Facebook post by Dr Puad  Zarkashi, one of the attendants of the wedding, he said that Ashman and his wife braced through the tough times at the wedding without the presence of Najib Razak. The wedding also saw the gatherings of many politicians, and it was also graced by the presence of the YDPA too.
