A Malaysian mother, who is about to give birth to her third child, recently expressed her “wishes” and said that she wished she could turn back time and be single again.

The woman, who has been married for seven years and relies solely on her husband to provide for the family, said that while her husband carries out his responsibilities, she couldn’t help but feel hurt by his words.

“I’m not being ungrateful, nor feeling burnt out, I just…”

The woman also claims that her husband often looks down on her. However, out of respect for her husband, she chooses to remain silent every time her husband says something hurtful.

The suppression, unfortunately, has been causing her to wish for the impossible – to turn back time, be single again, work, and earn an income so that her life would no longer just revolve around her family.

“I don’t want to be an introvert. I want to socialise, travel the world, make my own money. But, I love my kids, too,” she sighed.

Two tired souls

In her viral dilemma shared on Threads, she said that while she’s grateful to have married a husband who provides, she doesn’t feel safe enough to express how fatigued she is at home, as her husband will only retaliate by saying that he’s more tired because he has to support the entire family.

“He would tell me to go to work instead, and he would take care of the kids at home.”

“I’m not denying that it’s tiring for him, but am I not allowed to feel tired just because he feels the same way too?”

If you’re a full-time mother, how do you cope with the emotional burdens at home?
